Drive boy, dog boy, dirty numb angel boy.. the opening lines from Underworlds 1995 song Born Slippy, a cultural phenomenon and one of the most iconic tracks of the 1990s after its inclusion in Danny Boyles iconic Trainspotting. The songs visceral energy, frantic beats, and haunting lyrics, capturing the hedonism and ephemeral nature of the era's rave culture. Praised as a masterpiece and a generation's anthem, it's noted for its immersive sound and the memorable "lager, lager, lager" chant, its enduring status as a dance floor anthem and a beloved live performance staple. Along with Rez it still remains a favourite of mine even after nearly 30 years - pure dance music class.
