"Weak Become Heroes" is the standout track from the classic 2002 album, Original Pirate Material in my opinion with its lyrical genius and commentary on dance culture. With vivid portrayal of mid-90s rave culture, its evocative piano loop, and its blend of nostalgic euphoria with a bittersweet, modern-day perspective highlights Mike Skinner's "poetry" and touching words. Capturing the universal experience of a rave, juxtaposing the fleeting joy of the moment with the "colder, harsher" reality of the aftermath and the era. Having experienced many nights out clubbing in the 90's as portrayed in Skinners exceptional lyrics it remains one of my favourite Streets songs to this day.. "the stars align, we all sing, we all sing".
